Judith's Wardrobe banner

A friend asked me to do this a while ago, and, to be honest, I forgot. Basically, in an attempt to reach her ULTIMATE GOAL of an iPhone 3G (although now it is probably a 3GS), she is selling off some old things of hers. Please have a look at Judith's Wardrobe and even if you don't, just leave her a comment or something, she'd really appreciate it. :)

MEGA BONUS FEATURE TIME!
Here is the owner of Judith's Wardrobe singing along to Paris Hilton, just for you. I also have no idea who shouts "gangsta!" over the top of it at one point. I would think it was me, but I don't like being on camera at all and made sure not to say a word.
It is a mystery

For lack of a better word... ^^;

Whoops! Again.
How many times is this I've forgotten to blog for a long period of time? Actually. That's a lie.. I haven't forgotten.. I just either haven't had time (exams).. although they've been over for about 3 weeks now.

Basically, I just couldn't be bothered, however I'm going to actually try and blog daily. Or something. Either a video I've found online.. or just a note with my excuse for not posting some random junk. :D

There's a load of good new albums and stuff being released at the moment, so I'll try and review them too. Especially since my Kids In Glass Houses "Smart Casual" album review from way back has been the second-most viewed blog post I have.. behind the updates the day the council were removing trees, because the picture on Google Images now links to my page. I'll try and keep the Tuesday and Friday music things aswell; again it's really just a (very bad) case of me being bothered to post. *thumbs up*

I'm still Twittering (Tweeting? I dunno..), so please follow me if you still want to see what random boringness I am likely to be doing. :)

So see you tomorrow.. Or whatever. :)

New "In Town" Music Tuesdays

New Music Tuesdays: Little Boots image banner

Little Boots has been around for a bit, and after coming top of the BBC's Sound of 2009 poll back in January, she's finally releasing her first proper single. Written about her first time in LA, with no friends and little money, "New In Town" is fantastic. Have a listen and let me know what you think!

I'm in like with this site..

OMGPOP image banner

I've been a member of this site for a while, and only just realised I've never blogged about it. So I thought, why not? :) Oh.. Wait.. I realised I just did. Hmm..

Basically, Omgpop (née "iminlikewithyou") is an online, mega-social multiplayer games site.. and it's LOTS of fun. There's loads of games to try, mainly based on othe games; for example, there's a Tetris-style game.. Bomberman.. Pictionary.. :)

The whole site's in Flash, so everything works pretty much seamlessly; from creating matches to chatting to friends in cute little IM boxes that pop up on the side of the screen. The friends system in general is one that could be a strong opponent to Facebook's. When friends log in, their profile picture will appear in the corner, all you need to do is click on it to start a chat.

If you decide to sign up, please send a friend request to JamesWyl, I'd love to beat you at Ballracer!

Yep, still studying those cases...

Case Study banner

You may have noticed that the posts referencing "Case Study" have broken videos on them. I took them offline to try and tidy them up a little, but for some reason the new version of the main film uploads to about 40% then crashes. I'm currently blaming AOL for this, because they generally seem to be very unhelpful when we moan to them about our Internet, despite the fact we've been customers of theirs for 10 years or something.

"Yes, at times our Internet speeds drop really slowly and we have no idea why.."
"Have you checked the boxes you plug into your phone lines? Sometimes the electricity can melt the insides of the boxes which would stop your Internet connection."
"Yes, but it hasn't stopped altogether, just some--"
"Well we shall send you out some new connectors and see what happens."

For a start.. is that even possible??

However, in spite of AOL's attempts to foil my film-making career, there is a new and improved blooper reel which I can post. Yay!

Remix Firdyas: Vega$

Vegas Remix image

I have decided upon a new feature. If I remember to post, that is. Stupid exams.. getting in the way *grumble*..

Anyway. It's a Friday, most of you will be tired and, for lack of a better word, "meh". Which is why I'm going to try and cheer you up, or at the very least, give you a little bit more energy to make it through the day. Note the awful, awful pun in the title? It seemed like a good idea at 2am last night, and "Remix Fridays" just sounds a bit more boring... Oh well, it's still rad muzak. :)

Everyone knows (or, at least, should know) that Calvin Harris is pretty much a genius. After recently signing an advertising deal with Coca-Cola for *a lot* of money (Google it if you want to find out, I can't be bothered - I've got chemistry revision to  do), it seems that he's still on form, ignoring the tradition second-album "new sound" phase that most artists go through.

He's just remixed Katy Perry's "Waking Up In Vegas" and it's so easy to love it. It's been madeover with the ever-so-funky Calvin Harris synth machine, and it's brilliant. It's so good that he even uploaded it himself to his own YouTube account, although, this isn't really a measure of quality, just the fact it would take me ages to find an uploaded MP3 of the song then find an embeddable player for it, etc. Links to last.fm for discussion, and Hype Machine for downloading are there, too. :)

It was our time... kinda!

Eurovision 2009 picture

Ah, Eurovision. The stuff of cheesy Europop and freaky woman dangling from ceilings in giant see-through paddling pools. You can't make it up :)

This year it was held in Russia, and I have to say, while a lot of the songs were some fairly boring ballads, countries like Greece and Ukraine really made up for it in their performances. Also, both countries were ROBBED. I have to say I'm a little gutted there was nothing as awesome as Kalomira's performance from last year (giant books, anyone?), but Ukraine's entry is really starting to grow on me.

The videos for my favourite acts are below, including the slightly puzzling "postcard" introductions. This year, it was a model looking at famous buildings from the country, then wearing them as a hat. We also learned some useful Russian words. I now know how to say "let's rock," "caviar," "Santa Claus," and "grandmother."

Grece's entry (Sakis Rouvas' "This Is Our Night") was OK GO's music videos meet Europop meets over-enthusiasm. It was fantastic though, crazy dancing guy on a giant glittery treadmill coffee table which opens up with a Greek flag inside. Note the slightly scary "unnh"s before the chorus for added amusement.

The Ukraine's entry of Svetlana Loboda's "Be My Valentine! (Anti-Crisis Girl)" was also so awesome. I loved the song and the overall performance; the naked Brit awards/Roman soldiers were a little odd, but the rotating cog things, if a little odd, were brilliant. You can check out the music video here; it's kind of like a Magnum ad gone wrong.. there's bizarre costumes, writhing/being baked in chocolate and lots of wind machine. Also, anyone else thinking the chorus of this sounds like it belongs in a Citroën ad?

New Music Tuesday? It's got me dancing!

Tommy Sparks: She's Got Me Dancing image

Trying out something new, maybe. You guys need to let me know what you think. Yes, all 5 of you :)
Is it worth posting some new awesome music I've found each week, or not bothering? I like sharing my finds with y'all, I think it makes the world a happier place.

So anyway, I heard this song on an advert on e4 the other night, and realised I had to download it. I heard it a while back and was going to then.. but I forgot :D For me, Tommy Sparks' "She's Got Me Dancing" is immense. I've already infected Melissa with the funk.. now it's your turn - just click play below :)
